The Grand Tour was the 17th and 18th century custom of a traditional trip through Europe undertaken by upper-class young European men as an educational rite of passage, an artistic and cultural journey. With the democratization of transport and the revolution of online communications, travel has become a part of everyday life, of our relationships with others, and of our personal growth. During these strange, necessarily restricted times, we find ourselves trapped inside, with travel plans and meetings cancelled, and in turn, spending more time online.
