ASU Art Collection
The ASU Art Museum, named "the single most impressive
venue for contemporary art in Arizona" by Art in America
magazine. Part of the Herberger College of Fine Arts at Arizona
State University, it serves a diverse community of artists
and audiences through innovative proramming that is interdisciplinary,
educational and relevant to life today.
This exhibition focuses on the range of contemporary art
acquired over the past two years, reflecting the museum's
collection and exhibition goals. Recent purchases and gifts
include multimedia installations by Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle
and Maurizio Pellegrin; paintings by Michael Ray Charles,
Bob Adams and John Bankston; prints by Xiaoze Xie and Nathan
Oliveira; and ceramic sculpture by Rudy Autio. These provocative
and compelling works are of aesthetic interest and educational
value for a broad audience.
